There are two stages to the Music Aptitude Test. The first stage comprises a multiple choice written aptitude test in music consisting of 60 questions in four tests sections and the second stage is a performance assessment.
For the first stage of the Music Aptitude Test your child will be allocated a test venue within the consortium of schools. The test takes place after school, usually in the main hall of the school test centre and is played on a CD. The test venue allocated has no relation to the school of your choice. The South West Herts Consortium Music Aptitude Test does not require any previous knowledge of music, or music theory.
